Hey!
So a lot has been going on, and I've been a little too busy to make blog posts in the last couple of weeks.
Another reason for that is related to learning programming--you might be able to guess what I'm getting at, but nevertheless I will explain that below. I still have every intention to continue my blog though, and I have many things I wish to post about (including many unfinished draft posts! ><) First of all, I'll mention some things besides coding. But first, let's talk about coding:
Coding, yay!
Okay.
So July is one of those months for me that are jam-packed with important birthdays; My brother's is July 19th, My girlfriend's and her twin sister's is July 20, and my friend Johnny's is on the 24th. Not to mention, another friend's was on the 25th (but he was off being awesome; he was off in Japan, and then to a few other places, and then to work in like...Silicon Valley!?). To make it even more insane, my close friends and I had another close friend for a while (long story, but we don't really talk to him much or anything now and he's not even in the city anyway), whom we chilled with a great deal when I was in first year--and his birthday was on July 26th!
Two awesome parties took place quite recently. My girlfriend and her sister had another one of their gaming feast-parties--and oh man, the fooooooood. My friend Johnny (of WakeGaNai) and his girlfriend celebrated his birthday with a party of their own, and the case with that was pretty similar. Both parties were an awesome way to get together for some fun and reward ourselves for hard work. In my case, I'm starting to actually feel like I deserve such things. That is, 頑張っています~~(GANBATTEIMASU~~)
SO!
So I've been doing a lot of programming lately, though I'm still just learning the basics. I took a Python-focused course in school before (though back then I couldn't really focus on it, nor did I even intend to become a programmer--unlike now!), and later when I came back to programming and, in a fortunate turn of events, stopped everything I was doing and turned it into my absolute career path, I started learning Python using Codecademy (awesome site!).
I went on to learn more at Codecademy, and I intend to keep on using it. The first course I fully completed was on HTML and CSS (that's right! I can build some basic websites!! I need to practice though). Now, by this time, and fortunately for me (because learning alongside others is great), Johnny had also taken up programming. In particular, he loves to spruce up his blog and learn how to make it as aesthetically pleasing as possible whilst implementing as many other optimizing elements as possible. That's a major thing that I like to do as well, and I'll be doing a lot of that too, pretty soon.
The reason I'm less motivated to make a lot of posts here is because I'm going to keep learning, keep practicing, and pretty soon just code my own blog. I might do this through Ghost or something, but it will still be fully customized by me and I won't have to deal with anything dumb that comes with blogging as a non-code monkey.
Right now I'm working through the Javascript course. One of my main focuses is learning languages, some versatile and some more focused, expand my potential web design/development capabilities. I'm pretty much running down a list I've jotted down from personal research and fused together with a list given to me by a knowledgeable friend. After finishing the Javascript course, I will work through several fun little web-related tutorials on Codecademy while I supplement that with working my own real website project (which I will discuss in another post sometime). This will allow to to refresh and enhance my skills with HTML and CSS while also looking for ways to implement Javascript, stuff from Bootstrap, and eventually JQuery once I learn about that too. And of course, I will go back to my unfinished Python course and finish 'er up.
I actually have various person project ideas, but I'll get into that another time. Another language I'll be learning too is C. Yup! So I'll learn and practice Python some more before I get into that. Python knowledge has been helping me to easily understand Javascript, and I think that once I'm through with learning about the basics of Javascript, I'll be even better at mastering the rest of Codecademy's Python course. In fact, although for some reason I thought that Javascript was going to be a little easier than Javascript, I'm no longer feeling so sure; The loops and lists and double-nested loops (for-if-for) I've been learning already at the 1/3 mark in the Javascript course is what I remember learning a fair bit later in the Python course, not to forget nested lists and dictionaries.
For some reason, the passing of time and/or the learning of Javscript (albeit only for a few days so far) in addition to the study and practice of pseudo-languages like HTML and CSS, has really sunk in, leaving me with a clearer and more confident mind about programming.
I am ready to take it all on!

Yukigami Still Kickin'
Yukigami has returned!!
Hello everyone!
Long time!
So I haven't blogged in some time, but it's just because some other things had to come first. With this post, I will fully (ish) update you on Yukigami developments and recent happenings. Following this post, I will write up 1-2 more tonight alone, just to comprise a little '"I'm back!" posting burst.
As I've said before, I'm aiming to become a programmer. I started by learning Python for about a month. After that, various incidental things came up in addition to a lot of social things, and I went without programming for around two weeks. After that, a lot of different things were getting to me and bogging me down, and I mean a lot of things. I went at least a month or more without doing any notable amount of programming, and I even became a bit disorganized and slack for a bit. But, I was able to let out my stress and things that had finally, finally piled up on the normally stoic-ish me, and finally look back on everything and put it all into perspective. I was able to gain a new resolve after letting the people around me know what's up and, with their help, spring back into high gear!
Essentially, I am programming now like I should be. I have a lot of reasons to push myself. I'm also fitting in some story writing, and setting close deadlines for myself for all my current undertakings. That includes exercise--I'm making a point of running at least once a day, or if it rains and stuff, trying to make up for it another way indoors.
In addition to Python, I've taken up HTML and CSS--I find them pretty intuitive and fun!
That said, maybe I'll be able to spice up this blog a whole lot more with such skills. I am of course planning to build my own websites and whatnot; my first project is going to be sort of an online Evernote with which to organize my life and serve as a convenient all-purpose homepage. It will also serve as a means of practicing style and design, and essentially everything else associated with web development, albeit at a novice level. What I most want to do with programming, at least in the near future, is build websites and create games and apps. I know I'll be interested in more than just that, but essentially I want to do the fun things that serve as a creative outlet for me.
As far as this blog, Nevermeltice goes, I have some organizing to do and no longer am I going to promise dates for anything. But I'm going to operationalize all of the sections, add to them, fill them up with content, and get all of my labels (tags) organized and set up in a systematic manner.
I put writing aside, but personal urges/needs and social happenings have led me to start fitting in some writing again. Before, I spoke of and posted about various stories-to-be--particularly Love Lilycove, my AU Pokemon fanfic (don't doubt it before you try it!), and kept saying that chapters were coming soon. Well, they didn't come soon. They didn't even come yet.
I did, however, begin the writing and I do have part of a chapter one. What's more, I just started getting back into it and am already up to about 20 pages, so you can definitely expect to see something soon (though the thing I was writing today is not an early chapter. It's something I felt like writing now, which will actually be posted later on--a side story chapter. Although its a side story, I must admit it's going to be hard for any regular chapters to live up to its standard. It's not that I don't have confidence in my regular story, but this "side story" will read like a movie of sorts. Or, you know, a really good, somewhat long episode. It's a special backstory chapter that focuses on the past of one of the characters and how he ended up the way he is (and in showing this, I also show more dimensions to his personality than would be otherwise clearly revealed).
I've been thinking of going to college for programming as a major path change. I'm not sure yet though, but I have some researching and calling to do (more, that is). I'm currently looking into Seneca@York. Do you have any suggestions?
I'm still teaching Go.
I recently started watching various cooking contest shows, such as Masterchef, Masterchef Canada, Hell's Kitchen etc. They're pretty funny and entertaining, and I learned some things from watching Masterchefs.
I also watched the anime No Game No Life--definitely pretty decent, I must say! Loved the Fate (Rin and Archer) reference in episode, what was it, 10? Said by Jibril. Speaking of Fate, I can't wait until the Ufotable take on Heaven's Feel comes out in October!!
Congrats to Caressa and Jino for getting married!!
Best of luck to mah man Johnny @ WakeGaNai in his new pursuits!!
Congrats to Allen, my good friend at Noble Zen Legacy for graduating!!

New World - Wandering in the thick of night
Right now I'm doing my best to quickly learn the Python programming language. I've gotten a lot of advice from friends, and I've been sluggin' away at codecademy.com and some videos I saved from a couple of months I spent before in U of T's CSC108 (when I wasn't learning it for serious reasons).
To be honest, my motivation and interest right now is pretty damn high. I have a lot of reasons why I really need to do this, and time is of the essence! I am really going at it!
To be honest some more, I'm also really scared of it. I am excited by even the mere thought of programming battleship, Tetris, or a text adventure such as Pokemon! However, the more I read up on or get told about all I need to learn to do and about all the things some friends of mine already can and do do - hehe, I said "doo-doo!" - the more I'm kind of just like, "woah, shit!"
Am I going to give up? Not a chance. Am I going to ignore the intimidation and feelings of hopelessness?
Hell yeah~
I've been browsing a lot of programming-related stuff recently, especially some incredibly informative and interesting Youtube videos, and today I took a little peak at my friends (outdated?) blog.
Honestly, I have no clue what he is talking about, and I don't know how many years it would take me to get 1/4 as far as he has. Not to mention, that last post at the top of the page was from four years ago. I quickly saw "SDK" written near the top and almost kid myself that he might be talking about Go, since he plays.
Nope.
But you know what, this is probably something like what it feels for starting Go players. So...
I'm going to go at this the same way I went at Go back when I was improving quickly at Go as a Kyu player who wanted to become a professional player (yeah... well... I REGRET NOTHING!!).
I'll keep making some updates about my progress with programming. Wish me luck! Or at least... wish me greater probability?
For anyone wondering when the heck I'm going to get around to finishing and posting chapters of stories, such as Love Lilycove or one of my Fate AU fanfics... They are coming.
I'll do my best!! I'll become a programmer!!
For now I may wander in the thick of the night,
But I'll run and I'll fearlessly take on this fight,
For the now is my goddess who beams down so bright,
To rid my future of eternal twilight

Gods are busy
Yukigami here!
So I have become pretty busy as of late, and I would just like to update some things!
First of all, I still intend to do a huge amount of writing and the things I said I'm going to do. But as it turns out, I'm going to have to become a whole lot better at managing my time. Like...really!
I'm also going to have to start exercising more, as my energy won't keep up otherwise.
So, why am I going to be so incredibly busy? I don't feel like getting super detailed about it just yet, especially because I need to be doing something else right now instead of typing up a long blog post. But essentially, in addition to having exams to study for, I have a lot of programming to learn. I am taking it upon myself to become a programmer, and I am very determined and trying really hard. Right now no matter how hard I try I feel I am not trying nearly hard enough. I really want to catch up to those who've been programming for a while already, or at least to those who've taken more than a year or two of it in school as their focal program of study.
I will still make regular blog posts, as you will soon see, but there will hopefully come a time during the early Summer when I can really pump out some interesting written works, Go tutorials and more, despite the rigorous training I'll need to continue with for programming.
I am undergoing some major life decisions/changes right now but you'll learn all about it at a much later point. I don't want to get into it until I've really taken meaningful steps. I also don't want to say anything as though it's final here, even if in my head I already think it so.
I managed to come up with some insanely awesome ideas recently for one of my stories though and started on chapter one (I know have four different chapter one's, each for a different story). One night, I was really in the zone and the giant, lightning-fast stream of ideas all just clicked! You will see all of them within the next two months, likely within 40 days. I really do intend to become regular with story chapters (and a lot of other things I said I'd be writing out). I haven't turned my eye from role-play, MTG, anime, or other such topics around which recent topics have rarely been based, but major events/decisions/changes in/to my life have pushed a few things aside by force for now.

Technical Writing
Yukigami here!
To elaborate on my previous post regarding my summer preoccupations - I plan to also refine my skills of technical writing.
Because this summer really needs to be productive for me not only in terms of creative writing and taking a real step into the world of novelists and creative writers, but also in terms of developing the skills of mine most relevant to and useful for realistic overall employability, I plan to learn and refine my skills of technical writing rather than focus only on my creative writing projects. My Go tutorials and articles may contribute to this type of skill development, but it is definitely not enough - not even close!
Furthermore, in addition to taking one half-credit course this summer, I'll be training myself in Python. I may or may not have said it before that I'm including 20 minutes per day as a minimum requirement of daily programming, but I'm increasing that.
Yeah, I'm definitely feeling the pressure from thoughts of the future and career pursuits. I actually think about these things every single day.
Like, a lot...
While we might classify Go tutorials and typical discussions referring to Go diagrams as "technical writing", I am definitely going to continue doing it with some level of creatively, if not with increasing levels.
Talk is cheap, I'll show it with my next Go tutorials!
I really can't wait to be free from this school term so that I can post like mad!!
Well then,
Again soon!
