Merry Christmas!

Yukigami here~

MERRY XMAS!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So it's Christmas now. One odd thing about this Xmas is that for most of my friends and I, there won't be any exchanging of gifts today. It's all the storm's fault. As I talked about here, there was, and still is, a big power outage due to a heavy storm that caused trees to fall on and mess up power lines. On the bright side, it gives us more time to get all the presents ready. Personally, I was being very last-minute. I did get a lot of shopping done yesterday though.
--By the way, how does the blog look? Anything to be desired?
Is it easy to look at?
Obviously with Xmas and everything, as well as spending time with people important to me who've had exams and things up to a few days ago or whom I hadn't been able to see due to my own exams and things, I haven't been able to get any writing done on Love Lilycove.
However,
Today I'm at home with family and later on we will play games or something. Before evening, I need to go buy some jewelry cleaner, finish a lot more Xmas cards, and do a bit of gift wrapping. But two more things I plan to fit in today are a bit of exercise and a bit of writing!
Around now, I suppose I'll put a bit of time into continuing the first chapter.
Tomorrow I'll start seeing my friends again!
About Love Lilycove:
I think each chapter, or at least the first anyway, will be at least 20 pages.
Happy Holidays~!!
Dark Christmas?
暗いクリスマス?
この間ひどい嵐があって、木がたくさん倒れました。それだけじゃない、木がパワーラインの上に落ちて、オンタ リオ中にたくさんの家が停電の状態になっちゃいました。僕はトロントに住んでいて、とても不便でした。たった今電気が僕の家に戻ってきて、すごく助かりまし た。数日前から外が少し危なくらしくて、モールも店もほとんど閉まっていて、ぎりぎりのクリスマス買い物をできませんでした。友達のみんなもこの状態だから、クリスマスの後に、パーティをする予定があります。
ああーー冬休み終わっちゃいそう~~
TT__TT
(Owned by weather!!)  x(
Now that I have electricity back, life is okay again.
Actually, it really wasn't that bad. But it was boring, and more than two days - say, a week or more - would have REALLY sucked.
Tonight, I am happy that I was able to prepare some presents for people with help from my mom, though I will have to do a lot of shopping tomorrow, too!
In particular, I was able to prepare something special for someone. It's going to be legen--
Wait for it...
AND...
NO!
It was not Yukigami's fault for all the freezing of the trees and falling of the trees onto all dem power lines. The ice-coated trees may be beautiful, but Yukigami would not go that far. Well, for the time being Yukki wa HAPPY DESU! ;p
Love Lilycove, not long now!
Hello hello~ Yukigami desu.
This will be a very brief post. (Edit: It really WASN'T, was it.)
I am just here to say that the story planning is going VERY well, and I have already planned several full "arcs" out, so to speak, to the T!
What's more, I've managed to figure out some of the romantic drama and complications. At first I was worried that with all the battling and rivalries and Jaden's hardcore personal issues, there wouldn't be enough room for a little kissy kissy smoochy smoochy~ (lol)
And believe me,
The core is hard in this one!
But yeah...
Actually, I really mean it when I say that anything goes. If there's one word I can say, looking at my plans...
It's...
"Drama"
Anyway, actually I wasn't planning to do much planning.
See what I did there?
This time around, I wanted to try jumping into a story and just let it flow out of me. In the past, I always got bogged down in planning everything out,
Especially because my stories (I have so many stories needing to be written...) always get
SO
Convoluted!!!
But I'm writing this "Pokemon fanfic" because it gives me a bit of a base, a sort of anchor holding me down,
An axis around which my story can revolve!
So...
That's why I am writing this Pokemon fanfic. My main goals are to experience writing many chapters of a story that still has all my own ideas and unique plot, get lots and lots of critique and practice so I can improve as much as possible, and develop a readership. A readership would make me happy, help me out, and just really make this whole thing even more worth writing.
But yeah,
Thanks for stopping by,
Thanks for reading this, and...
it's going to be Xmas so I am pretty busy, but I am trying to get Chapter One finished in a matter of days. I will do my best to make a fan of you!
I mean a follower.
Because people "follow" others on blogspot. ...Ugh,
How do I say it in a way that doesn't sounds conceited?
Anyway,
Please help me out and read my stuff when I post it!
Love Lilycove...Ch. 1!!
Pokemon XY, and Morishiba
Haro~ Yukigami here!
~ By the way, you can call me Yuki (雪), Yukki (ゆっき) , Yukicchi (ゆきっち), Yukigami-san etc.
Today I will talk briefly about Pokemon XY. I will go over a few brief thoughts and post my friend code.
But first, here,
Have a Morishiba!
amazing. Much term. Such pain. Over now. wow.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

So, anywa--

Erm!

So ANYWAY...

On to our Pokemon XY discussions...

POKEMON XY

My IGN is Noir. Noir, as in "black". Kalos - particularly Lumiose City - is based off of France, after all (and Paris in the case of Lumiose).

I originally chose this name because I was going to be a sort of "netherworld" trainer - "Netherworld Noir" - and use only Psychic-, Ghost-, and Dark-type Pokemon. I sort of went back on this in the end, at least for now, but I don't mind the name so it's not like I'll start a new file.

I am, however, disappointed (VERY DISAPPOINT~) at the lack of hair styles and colours available for the protagonist. On the other hand, the new customization features are, in addition to all the many other new features and upgrades, a huge step up for the Pokemon games and make Pokemon XY perhaps the best Pokemon game ever. GJ! But I really hope that the guys get more hair styles, and that we all get more clothes and more hair colours to choose from (such as red, blue, purple, green etc.)

Here is my friend code, please comment with your name and FC if you would like to add me.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Noir:  1907 - 8621 - 5760
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I will take any FC, but I'm looking specifically for things like Regenerator Slowpoke, Growlithe/Vulpix safari,, Chlorophyll Petilil, and... Oh and two other major things I'm looking to trade for are 4+ max IV Squirtle with all the good Aura/Pulse moves he needs for his Mega form. That, and a hidden ability  Eevee/Espeon with 4-6 perfect IV's.

As for my team-to-be, I will post it right below! But some additional Pokemon I'm experimenting with it are  Slowbro, Jolteon, Metagross, and heck, even Muk! I tried Muk for some reason and he is unexpectedly decent...and unexpected! I should probably test out Galvantula, too.

Here is Yukigami's team!

My Favourite Pokemon, Types, and Versions

Hello, hello! Yukigami here again!
こんいちわ!

Firstly, here you go, have a Vulpix!

Isn't it beautiful?

I have this picture as the avatar for one of my online Go accounts on KGS.
This is what I have posted in the KGS user info:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
ふしぎで、かっこいい。
かわいくて、美しい。
一番きれいなポケモン。
まぶしくて見えないよ、ロコン。
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The passage above kind of rhymes.
It is read,

"Fushigi de, kakkoii.
Kawaikute, utsukushii.
Ichiban kirei na Pokemon.
Mabushikute mienai yo, Rokon."

It roughly translates to:

Cool and mysterious.
Adorable, and beautiful.
The number one prettiest Pokemon.
You shine so bright that it's blinding, Vulpix.

But it really sounds better in Japanese, ne?

Now, onto the main pointless point of this post!

Some of Yukigami's favourite Pokemon:

Vulpix, Ninetales, Arcanine
Wartortle, Starmie, Blastoise
Lilligant, Bulbasaur, Ivysaur
Espeon, Gardevoir, Mew
Eevee, Persian, Zangoose
Zorua, Weevile, Absol
Sandshrew, Gliscor
Glaceon, Lapras
Dragonite, Dragonair
Jolteon
Gengar
Scizor

Note: This list is not exhaustive, and gives no hint as to a 'Top X' list.

 Some of Yukigami's favourite types:

This, however, I can divulge with confidence.
In no particular order:

Ice, Water, Normal, and Ghost

I have trouble creating a hierarchy out of these four favourites. Although some of my very favourite Pokemon are fire-type, fire doesn't quite fall into the Top 4.

Reasons why I like these types?

**Ice types are cool and mysterious. Pun both intended and not intended. There aren't many ice types, and ice tends to be on the beautiful side of things. I think snow is beautiful. Snowy Christmas or New Year's Eve nights are very romantic. I have many romantic night-time memories under lightly snowing purple Winter skies - "romantic" also in a fantastic sense.

 Furthermore, I am Yukigami after all ('Yuki'-->-->Snow). I was born in the Fall (Does that mean I should be called Akigami? ;p ), and I have always loved that time of year, not excluding Winter. The colour of the dying leaves... In all irony, it is beautiful. Also, I have pretty good Canadian tolerance to the cold. My friends always question my choice of clothing, but all I can say is "it's not cold!" or "I like it though."

**Water types are often beautiful, and when it comes to Pokemon, I am pretty aesthetic.
Several of my top ten favourite Pokemon are water-type, such as Wartortle, Blastoise, and Starmie.
Rather than being beautiful, Blastoise is simple yet cool, especially under the right rendering. I have always really liked him, and he is my starter-of-choice.

Starmie is very aesthetically pleasing and also rather useful competitively. Wartortle has the best of both worlds; He has most of the coolness of Blastoise, and a Weevile-esque badass-ness. He also has some beautiful parts, such as his big, elegant white tail and wing-like ears. His teeth show, he wears a cool "don't take no shit from no one" expression, and even has some cute little moe cheeks. He is one cool second-stager.

Water is something that is just innately beautiful. Remember all the times when you've seen the sun shining along the surface of a body of water, like glittering diamonds. Water is calm and amorphous, and as such, can represent a cool, stoic, and flexible mind and personality. Though this might glorify me too much, it definitely suits me well. Furthermore, and this may sound strange, I love to drink! And I'm not talking about beer. I am always thirsty, like a fish, and require a lot to drink in a day. Water is definitely another Pokemon type that's befitting of me. I usually chose the water-type starter Pokemon in my first game play-throughs, and while Blastoise is my favourite (and one of the strongest, now that he has a great Mega-evolved form), before 6th-gen I always thought Swampert might be the strongest of all starter Pokemon, or one of them. His power definitely goes under some people's radar.

**Normal types, especially the stronger ones, in my opinion tend to be anything but normal. Snorlax, Clefable, Zangoose, Togekiss - these Pokemon really don't have much normalcy to them, do they. Of course, now that Pokemon X and Y are out, two of those Pokemon's normal typing have been replaced by fairy typing. Lots of normal types look really "nice" in my opinion, like "nice and simple", but this part may be a tad subjective. I tend to prefer Pokemon that look more simple, or more beautiful. Another cool thing about normal types is that many of them have high HP, and can learn all kinds of elemental moves. Whether or not they can competitively make good use of those moves, Thunderbolt, Ice Beam, Surf, Flamethrower, Psychic... It's still pretty cool that they can use them at all. Furthermore, let me ask you: what did you imagine the first time you heard of 'normal-type?'? What I first thought was something like "down-to-earth, bland, typical, people, non-elemental, physical..." and so on. But is that really the case with normal types? Well clearly, no, it isn't! So it's not a boring type or anything!

**Ghost-types seem to fit coincidentally (or not so coincidentally?) well into my group of favourite types. Ghost-types are cool, mischievous, dark, mysterious, and often able to use a plethora of elemental moves. The spookiness and mischief of ghost-type Pokemon really appeal to me, perhaps partly because I was always a bit of a clown and a trouble maker years ago as a kid and as a young teenager. I was never a bully, 'gansta', or vandal - rather, I was a class clown, and someone who'd mostly lost his sense of danger for a while, as though having nothing to lose. That's what things were like back then. For some reason or another, if taking on the persona of a Pokemon trainer I would definitely feel a sort of kinship with ghost-type Pokemon. To me, they represent a kind of alternativeness, a kind of rogue-ness, and a kind of difference. Furthermore, I have always loved Halloween!

 .
.
.

Finally, I hereby divulge my opinion on the six generations of the main Pokemon handheld games!

If I control for nostalgia value and the graphical/technical standards of each game's respective time, removing them from the equation, my hierarchy from the best experience and down would go like this:

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

2nd Generation (GSC)

3rd Generation (RSE)

6th Generation (XY)

1st Generation (RBY)

4th Generation (DPPt)

5th Generation (BW)

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Additional comments:

Black and White had a lot of Pokemon that, frankly, were quite ugly. I just thought, what were they thinking??
Obviously the game had its good points, and like any Pokemon game, I loved it. But it was also way too easy to beat (like XY), and the aesthetic dissatisfaction of the Pokemon messed it up for me. Some of the Pokemon, including some less ugly ones, just have way too many intricate details; it really isn't very nice to look at. Simple is good. Less is more. Kyurem and Genesect are two examples of Pokemon I can't stand looking at, not to mention Genesect is rather hax, too. Then I see everyone using it competitively, and it disappoints me that people don't care about using their real favourites, or that aesthetics mean nothing to them. Numbers don't matter to me, though...

Even if some people claim one of them as one of their "favourites", it simply cannot be that the countless people battling with them all like them as a "favourite" and would favour them even if they weren't very strong. I just don't think strength - aka numbers - should be a legitimate qualifying quality for a favourite Pokemon. If it were, then I could work for Gamefreak and draw a bunch of thorns and spikes sticking out of a piece of crap, give it a name (Shitcicle), and give it awesome stats, and people would flock to it and use it in Showdown and stuff. Then if someone criticizes them on their choice of Pokemon - as I'm sure I'm not the only one annoyed when everyone uses the same boring teams with the same sets - they may claim that it is, in fact, one of their favourites. But would they really do that if the Pokemon is a shit-cicle? At least then, you could laugh at them and it will no longer matter to you.
Don't just battle - battle in style! Use, like, a Persian!

Please keep in mind that this entire blog entry is highly opinionated and biased, and you need not thinking much of it. I'm sure it will clash with many of your opinions. Furthermore, my game generations hierarchy is sketchy even for me. 3rd Generation, for example - it might be my favourite.

As for 4th generation, well, it wasn't quite as memorable to me as some of the other games. I also didn't like that some of the places and their music had a kind of hillbilly/hick thematic. But there were so many awesome things about the game that made up for that. Some of the cities were nice, like Hearthome, and the game had plenty of beauty. Cynthia was a truly awesome champion, and her music, too, was cool. Everything about the final encounter with Cynthia was powerful and awesome. Also, I probably played the 4th generation games more than any other. Even after lots of restarted games and accidental erased game files (my brother, etc.), my last file has close to 400 hours (stupid breeding!!).
Overall, I would say that 4th gen wasn't that far off from those above it on my hierarchy, and I like it a lot more than 5th generation. I loved the ending video/music, too!

What can I say about the 1st generation? Well, I can say that it is a fierce competitor for the top spot on my hierarchy, along with 2nd and 3rd gens.  Gary was a really cool champion. Or Blue, I should say. He probably has the coolest Pokemon Champion battle theme EVER, he looks cool and rival-y, and his Pokemon levels made him a relatively tough champion to beat without Player hax. First generation lacked much of the dimension the other games have to them though, and the game is essentially over after you beat the Elite Four. Even 2nd gen transcended that issue. Actually, 2nd gen transcended it the best out of them all!

6th generation, XY, is a solid game. The sheer amount of added features, fixes, etc. make it an indisputably awesome Pokemon game. One of the awesome things about it is the character customization features, which I've wished for since I was a kid! I was like, "man, I wish I could be one of those 'rocker' characters! gnarly, bro~"

There is just no way to say that Pokemon XY is not a great game. There is also no way it could fall below the middle point on the Pokemon game hierarchy. Two downsides about the game are that, with the change to Experience Share and the continuation of even easier Elite Four members whose Pokemon levels aren't very high and who use only 4 Pokemon (!!), and that the game feels kind of "finished" after defeating the Elite Four, much like the first Pokemon games.

3rd generation was simply awesome. There were lots of different terrains, and the map terrain itself was made beautiful and more dynamic. The game was a huge step up from the first two generations in many respects. Like XY, there were a huge number of added features and small additions. The music was nice, and many of the places - such as Ever Grande City, the sooty area near Lavaridge city with all the Spinda and whatnot, and the underwater terrain - were simple awesome and very memorable. There is just too much to say. Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald were amazing Pokemon games and easy take 1st, 2nd or 3rd place.

It's not hard to explain why 2nd generation was my favourite, so I won't even have to say much. I will even put it into point form, for both our sakes:

-Great music (for example, National Park theme at night)
-Large map (even just Johto alone, no?)
-Pummeling infinite Rockets
-New Pokemon types
-A HUGE step up from 1st generation
-Espeon ~ ~ ~ !!! (Also, Lugia is pretty cool for a legendary ;p )
-ANOTHER REGION! Going back to Kanto, and reliving the first generation!!
-The cruise to Kanto!
-Get 16 badges, and then...battle...Red!!! That...was very ultimate.

About commenting on the blog

Hello, Yukigami here!

First off, it seems that many people are confused about how to comment on this blog.
Fortunately, once I've actually posted completed chapters, I will register myself onto sites like fanfiction.net and DeviantArt.

Unfortunately, it seems people can't "follow" this blog if they aren't registered with Google.

Below is a blog comment sent to me via Facebook by someone I'll refer to as "JSC".
It addresses the ability to comment on this blog, and comments on the post: Story Synopsis.

Here it is:

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

  I don't use blogspot so I will comment about your synopsis. It turned out a little different than I expected. It's still a moody main protagonist, with issues from the past that won't leave him be. It's still a school setting, with uniforms, gossip, rules (which I thought is pretty interesting with having only one Pokemon per person) and hallways. It's still a romance and drama fanfic, but with added adventure and angst. For a game's case like Pokemon, it is a good AU setting, but it feels a little alienated with the Pokemon series. It doesn't really remind me of Emerald version, but it could very well take place during Pokemon Colosseum, which looks like a distant timeless future of Hoenn. One question. What Gen pokemon will your fanfic have? I know it takes place in Hoenn, but maybe we'll see a Gen 4 Pokemon like Shinx or a Gen 5 Pokemon like Deino. Hope this helps.

My response:

Thanks JSC. I didn't realize only blogspot members can "follow" this.

The Hoenn-ness will become apparent once I've gotten chances in the story to describe the outdoors, the buildings, the traditions etc. For example, the Pokemon contests.

The game will feature Pokemon from all 6 generations; Tyrell has a Tyrunt.
If a new generation comes out while my story is still active, I will do something with that as well.

I will do my best not to make it too alienated from the Pokemon series, but I would also like everyone to consider this as separate from Pokemon; rather than judge the story on its relevance to the Pokemon series, I would like everyone to judge it more as something standalone.

There will be lots of competitions and rivalries and lots of battling at school and learning about Pokemon in class, but a lot of it will indeed be romantic. But there are also lots of things like major battles with the evil syndicate who will unveil themselves after some time.

I appreciate your comments!

-Yukigami

Story Synopsis

Hello, reader! Yukigami here.

Firstly, some of you who've checked out this blog have been misled by my somewhat poorly written nutshell character descriptions from the previous post, and have made assumptions about the story that aren't true. First, I will clarify a few things:
  • No, the protagonist is not like Ash. He probably isn't even like Red (I need to read more of the Pokemon manga. More than none would be good... ^_^' )
  • Yes, this story will be highly romantic, though this element generally will not flood the story. But it will pervade it; there will be some chapters, strings of chapters, and maybe even entire arcs that focus on romantic drama, but in the case of entire arcs, the drama will be tied into or complimented by a lot of Pokemon- and battling-related happenings. I won't be able to identify any concrete labels for this story for you until I've written a few chapters, as it may contain any mix of "romance/drama", "slice", "shonen", some comedy, some darkness...and heck, there might even be some things sitting at the corner of Shoujo and Lovelove street.
  • For those of you who read more than just one or two chapters, I can pretty much guarantee that the major developments will not be predictable. Furthermore, as far as I'm concerned anything goes
  • I will be using all the comments that come in as a means of improving my story and my writing, and many of your suggestions may be used. At the same time, however, this story will not become a reader-obsessed mockery of its original intentions. The characters will always keep true to their own virtues, and let me add that although some of them will at first seem to fit into certain known archetypes, such as Coby being a typical smartypants geek character, that only scratches the surface about them. Furthermore, some of these characters will undergo huge, well-built-up-to personal changes that will surely surprise and hopefully satisfy you.
  • I especially wish for technical advice for my writing. When it comes to the story ideas themselves, all I can say is this: Please have faith in my imagination!! I will not let you down!!
  • I am writing this series like a novel, so although I will try not to make it very slow, expect a long story!

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
STORY SYNOPSIS:

 The bulk of the story takes place in Hoenn, at Lilycove Secondary Pokemon Academy in the bustling City of Lilycove. All of the main characters are students of this school, each around 15 years-old at first. The story takes place far in the future - Pokeballs are a restricted item, trainers have special ID, and their Pokemon are not secret from the schools.

Every student has at least one Pokemon, and very few students have any evolved ones. Furthermore, as students, there are restrictions on the Pokemon they can bring to school. Students learn about and practice with Pokemon, but they also learn about regular academic subjects and about half of their time in school is spent on this. There are still schools around that focus only on typical academic subjects, and students who go to those schools often also go to Pokemon academies or Pokemon cram schools. Lilycove Secondary is a renowned and advanced school, and going to schools with built-in Pokemon education has become commonplace.

The story begins with a nightmare (: : EDIT : : Or does it??) - Jaden Petalstar's nightmare - and eventually, the cause of his inner turmoil that has eaten away at his personality for years will be revealed. The story starts off centralizing this issue and builds it into a mystery, but also presents a growing new problem of crime in Hoenn - an issue that has been taken care of and, until now, long forgotten. The story also slowly builds upon the unique characteristics, issues, and motives of the other characters, working them into the plot and subplots.

Overall, the story could hypothetically be separated into these elements:

  • Jaden's deep-rooted personal issues
  • Life at school, rivalries, and the issues and motivations of other student characters
  • The emergence of a new crime syndicate and growing danger in the city
  • Romance and drama, a heavy element within the overall scheme
  • Adventure: though rare and limited, things like travel and gym battles will take place

As for the overall tone of the story, the first thing I can say is that it will be darker and more realistic than the regular Pokemon story or even the Pokemon manga; anything goes. Again, romance will be a heavy aspect, and I will do my best to make those parts sweet, sad, irritating, well built-up, and very dramatic. Humour, death and sadness also make their presence known in the story. Finally, the last thing to say is that even if some characters seem highly archetypal at first, this will not always be the case, as their personalities are highly unique and individualized, and some of them undergo amazing changes.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Please, please, post your questions and comments! I'm sure there are more things you wish be answered, and you may have something to critique and wish to hear my response, so comment away!

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

P. S. By no means is Jaden the only male character who will have overt romantic relations throughout the course of the story. Any of the girls and any of the guys could have or develop feelings for one another - something I'll be sure to properly build upon for each character - and each character is not limited to one romantic interest or pursuer. Anything goes!!

Love Lilycove's Characters

Yukigami here~ ~

Below are brief character descriptions, please comment! These names were created using a Pokemon-esque naming scheme; the're not meant to be very realistic, but rather, names which help the reader remember things about the character, such as the types with which they prefer to battle or their signature Pokemon.

Main Character:

Jaden Petalstar
("Jay-din Peh-tull-star")
The somewhat emotional, cool protagonist with personal issues and some personality traits locked away within. His true personality remains mostly hidden from the reader, as he, despite the passage of time, remains in strife with a deep-rooted inner turmoil. The story centralizes the revealing and overcoming of his problems, while at the same time, diving into a great deal of eventful romantic drama and cool battles and developments.

Other characters introduced within the first chapter:

Coby Confuchsia
("Koh-bee Kunn-few-shuh")
An eccentric, confident know-it-all character who loves to amass knowledge and rely on highly strategic battle methods. Despite his confidence, he makes a lot of mistakes and appears goofy at times. He is clumsy with his own archetypal style.

Marin Skylily
("Meh-rin Skai-lily")
A shy and reserved girl. She is friendly and light-hearted, and although her grades in school are good, she has clear room for improvement as far as battling is concerned and is not very serious. She often daydreams, and appears to be a klutz and a bit of a flake, but she is very punctual and considerate. She tends to think herself incapable.

Tyrell Blaxton
("Tai-rehl Blax-tin")
An aggressive and power-hungry guy, he battles with overwhelming force. Because he favours bulky and high-offense Pokemon and refuses to give his opponent time to think, he is a tough opponent in battle despite his unsophisticated strategies. He is a friendly and big-hearted guy, but can be a handful and rather temperamental at times. He doesn't like to study, but gets through by proving himself in practical demonstrations. To him, results are most important. However, he is very sportsmanlike.

Amber Marblis
("Am-ber Mar-blis")
She has a very artsy, over-the-top personality. As though a "Pokémon Connaisseuse", Amber describes her favourite Pokemon with overflowing enthusiasm and charisma, and occasionally does the same about other things and Pokemon as well. She loves fashion and the arts, and although she isn't one of the stronger battling characters, the sheer depth of her selective knowledge helps her to get through school with flying colours. While at times she can seem rather skewed in her tastes, her love and passion for her favourite Pokemon - particularly rock types - occasionally offer her boosts in battle.

Carmen Stormwil
("Karr-min Storm-wil")
Carmen, a top student from a prestigious family, is a somewhat mysterious and rather attractive over-achiever, thought by some a genius and others a lucky and spoiled girl. Many students are jealous of her, attracted to her, look up to her, or are highly put off by her. She has a graceful but fiery personality and eyes that reveal intelligence and a resolve to be the best. Though she is highly competitive and often the topic of conversation, she has a habit of following her whims and doing whatever interests her, even if it takes her onto a detour from her personal goals. Despite her appearance in the eyes of the student body, she is at heart neither cocky nor cold. She is a noble but rather humble person who cares about others and does know how to have fun. Her personal weakness as a battler is something to be discovered.

~ ~ Jaden's mysterious second Pokeball ~ ~
Coby defeated Jaden's Gastly, winning him the practice match in chapter 1. But why, then, was there a second Pokeball on Jaden's belt? Coby, preoccupied with the morale boost from his lucky win, put the matter aside in his thoughts. But why didn't Jaden use the other Pokeball? What, if anything, could it contain, and why did he store it in his room later that night? As far as the others are concerned, Jaden has just one Pokemon.

Introduction

Hello to you, and to all, welcome.
This is Yukigami's Japan-o-centric writing blog, NEVERMELTICE.

Sit down, make yourself at home~ But keep your coat on, and watch out for the ice; it doesn't melt ;)

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

My initial purposes for this blog are three:

1. To share my writing with everyone and receive your motivation and critique in growing as a writer.

2. To share my thoughts on various subjects such as Anime and Manga, Japanese language and culture, philosophy, my life, and more.

And of course,
3.
To read all of your comments!
: : Edit : : AS you can see from the sections of the blog, there's even more - a LOT more ;)

My first major activity will involve a "fanfic" of sorts - a Pokemon high school romance!
I'm pretty sure I'll be calling this work...

 ~ ~ Love Lilycove ~ ~

I hope you can enjoy the story. Though it is only just beginning, I have quite the inflow of ideas for it, and with your motivating influence I'm sure we can go quite far~

Please comment on my blog and my writing!
