Lang-8

Lang-8 is an amazing site, an effective give-and-take learning community for the study of languages!

My name there is Saber0.

Basically, everyone has 'L points', which determine your L point ranking. The ranking determines how many people will see the posts you make that you wish to have assessed and corrected when people click 'correct' and view posts awaiting correction. The higher your L points, the higher on the list your posts will go and the more people's corrections you'll be likely to receive.

L-points go way up quite easily, all you have to do is make a few corrections on posts in your native language. Another determining factor for L points is the 'quality' assessment of your corrections by others. That is, whenever you make corrections for someone, others can vouch for those corrections. Everything can be commented on, and there are buttons for thanking and 'liking' corrections or comments.

Furthermore, in addition to being able to access your past posts and received corrections easily, you have a 'notebook' wherein you can store select corrections that you've chosen to store there. A post written in your language of study is corrected by others line by line, and comments can thereby also be line-by-line. Each correction set on each single line of your post can be individually stored into the notebook - that's how it works! It's great!

You don't even have to correct every line of someone else's post, you just correct and/or comment on whatever you like. Commenting is not just for each line, there's also a larger message entry box at the bottom of the post for commenting on the post/corrections as a whole.

My first time using Lang08 and posting in Japanese, I received full corrections from 6-8 people (I don't remember exactly how many) within the first 15 minutes!
It's crazy!:)

So basically...

I really recommend Lang-8 if you wish to improve in a language!

Jan. 28 Blog Changes

Some blog changes!

  • Edited the navigation tabs
  • Removed some thing from the side menu
  • Added some things to sidebar pictures, such as Carnival Phantasm :)
  • Replaced nearly all sidebar pictures with animated gifs!
  • Replaced perfectly good (possibly better) "Awesome Inc." blogspot background with this plain black background featuring a badass Pokemon trainer (seems to be gen. 5 female). The picture quality is not the greatest, but I think it's cool. Plus, it will synergize well with Love Lilycove fanfic once I get around to working on it some more and pump out some chapters!
  • Edited self-intro and personal Google+ details
  • Added many more people to Google+
  • Added a lot to my Tumblr
  • Added "news" info under the banner
  • Edited a blog post

Yuki got lots done in a very short session~!

^___^

Later I'll just need to figure out some html and see what I can do about a few things that are left desired.
For example, although I'm not sure it's possible, I would like it if my navigation tabs bar ('link list') under the banner didn't stretch all the way to the far sides.

My blogs and stuff

Yukigami here~

This one more post I just wanted to make this morning is just to make a follow up about the other blogs I posted about before.

In the past, I've had several blogs, and a livejournal. Plus, I have an older tumblr in addition to a new one. Newer Tumblr here.

I will be adding all the links and information to a page linked by a tab below my banner. It will be under the 'Yukigami on the web' tab, though that tab might have its name changed for some reason or another, for example 'Yukigami Online" instead.

Furthermore, although it will take a long time, I'm considering taking all the posts from all my old blogs and things and integrating them into this blog in a kind of "ancient posts" archive or something.
And believe me, there are A LOT!! my livejournal alone has A LOT of Go posts.
I can't believe some of them, too - SO NOSTALGIC!!

That's all for now~ Please expect this blog to get better and better and various ways, and probably above all else, FILLED with content!
And of course, although I keep saying this, Love Lilyove chapter 1 is coming right up...just as soon as I get everything all good and fine with all my courses.

Ja na~

Yukigami Identity~

Hey!

Yukigami desu.

This is just a quickie to inform the reader of what I am using to represent my online presence.

On all of my websites, my name is either "Yukigami", "Ygami", or something along the lines of those.

For example: "Yuki", "Yukki", "Yukicchi" to be cute about it, or you can throw around Japanese honorofics - for example, "Yukigami-san", "Yuki-san"/"Yukki-san"/"Yuki-kun" etc.
If you think I'm special and awesome, I would not be opposed to "Yukigami-sama" or "Yuki-sama" or "Yukki-sama" ;)

Note: the 'u' in Yuki (etc.) is of course an "ooh" sound, as in "ooh la la", or like a 'u' with a flat line above it.
I am most certainly not Yucky!!
...Just checking~  ^^'

So anyway, that said, you could also refer to me like so, by all means:

ゆきがみ、ユキガミ、雪神 etc.

I also don't mind if you swap out the "god" Kanji for "paper" or "bite" or even "hair", since I don't particularly mind any of those.
In fact, I've yet to decide on the most suitable Kanji-fication of this alias/pseudonym/pen name of mine~

In some less fortunate cases, I resort to something like Yukigami123 - for instance, my gmail address.

Last point on my Nevermeltice blog related aliases (obviously I have more online identities, but they're completely irrelevant and do not need mentioning),
I have some internet handles, such as my desperately-in-need-of-updating MyAnimeList page, for which I've chosen the name "Saber0". This is also true for the older of my two Tumblr accounts.

It's also possible that for some reason, I might refer to myself online as "gilgil". This is less likely though, and currently this is only used for my KGS ID.

Lastly, the pictures with which I represent myself!

First of all, let me clearly put it out there that none of the pictures with which I currently represent myself are mine, nor were they made by me. Although I do not know by whom they were each made, credit goes to them. I probably don't even have to say all this, but I also don't want you to think that I have mad art skillz.

So now without further ado,

Here is my main, representative pic, although it may incidentally be used less than the one that you will see below it.

This one is simply because my friends and family said it looks quite a bit like me, including the posture, especially the head/face, but also somewhat the style. This picture is pretty representative of me, as it has a mildly philosophical, contemplative and calm flavour. The next picture, however - an imo awesome looking suited up Kurapica pic, also feels ideal for me, but in an even more glorified fashion. Furthermore, it's badass, and his getup reminds of the current style transition I've been going through as of late (that is, I'm totally suiting up! Nothing to do with this picture~)

Here's one of my favourite profile-material ani-pix!!

 Totally. Baller.

As for instances of Yukigami in Servant form~ (Saber0~), I'll generally have a pic of either male ("proto") Saber, regular Saber, Saber Lily, or Saber Alter...

And for gilgil, of course I'll have a cool pic of Gilgamesh rockin' everyone's shit.

That's me!

Yukigami here!

Just a quickie!

First of all, check out My Tumblr!! ("Yukigami")
And while you're at it, here's my old-but-not-dead Tumblr! ("Realities Our Own")
